The Shanghai Museum is one of the major museums of China. Its ancient Chinese collection comprises over 120,000 objects such as furniture, paintings, coins, seals, jewelry, household items, paintings, ceramics and bronzes. During the coronavirus pandemic, it was the first Chinese museum to announce its closing, on January 23rd — the same day the Wuhan lockdown was announced.
