Metropolitan Museum of Art delays its reopening

When the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced its closure, on March 12, the expectation was that it would be able to reopen by mid April. As the months passed and the curve did not flatten, the reopening was delayed many times — to mid May, July 1, and, more recently, mid August. The Met also cancelled all its events for 2020.
