"The Seljuks had given way to a new tribal dynasty - the Ottoman - that had first crossed into Europe in 1345. Within two decades, they had established a European capital at Adrianople, and by 1373, the Byzantine emperor was paying a vassal’s tribute to the Ottoman sultan."

The ancient city of Adrianople, seized by the Turks in the 14th century, became the Ottoman capital until the conquest of Constantinople in 1453. Today, the city is referred to as Edirne. Watch the videos below to travel around the modern city:
